Tutorials about converting various types of video formats

Please become familiar with the above tutorials before you try to upload a video. It will save you time by avoiding unnecessary rejections due to wrong format, bitrate, etc. We ask you to send your videos properly encoded as a courtesy to us since we have very limited staff.

If you need to convert Quicktime (MOV) files you can download the free Program RAD Video Tools to convert your Quicktime movies to AVI format. After that, you can convert your AVI files to WMV using Windows Media Encoder as explained in the tutorial above.

You should consider buying software to convert your RM or MP4 files to WMV since there is no free software to do this. If you know of a free program to do this, please let us know.

Maximum size is 60 MB per uploaded file which is about 10 minutes of video. If you have a bigger file you can cut out unnecessary footage from your video to make it shorter. The other option is to split the video into parts, say "take off" and "landing."

CRASH VIDEOS are not accepted. However, "incident" videos are OK as long as no fatalities are involved.
VIDEOS WITH MUSIC are NOT accepted due to copyright issues.

PILOTS BEWARE: Under FAA and international aviation rules the pilots should not engage in any activity not related to flight under 10,000 feet "sterile cockpit rule". Therefore if you are videotaping yourself doing this you are jeopardizing your life and your job. Moreover, we will not accept your videos because we don't want to encourage such dangerous behavior. Please be careful in the skies! This does not apply to videos taken from the jumpseat or by other non-flying individual.
