The recent leaps in security levels at Airports all over the UK has caused massive impacts on airliners. An estimated £300m has been lost in delays, cancelations and increased baggage fees. British Airways have lost £50m, Virgin Atlantic £15m and Ryanair and Easyjet £10m. Well over 700 flights have been canceled at Heathrow. Ryanair have decided these measures are 'unworkable' and want the operations to return to normal within seven days or they will take the case to court. I quote from another news site (ntlworld.com. Sure...anything that makes it tougher for foreign airlines makes it better for US airlines. I say that we let them protect Britain from terrorist scum right until all the airlines are broke...then the US airlines can come over there and make a killing.

In case you missed the sarcasm...and I know you people are out there...there has to be a balance between safety and economics. If the airlines can't make money, they will go out of business...so you will be very safe...and unable to travel as the airlines can't pay their people, do maitenence, purchase fuel, or operate.

Lol, don't worry i got the sarcasm. Well of course, when i said I believe anything that protects us from the terrorist scum is good news, wether or not delays occur, i think so as long as the precautions are within reason. Right now i think they are within reason, but the tough security measures should be downgraded soon hopefully.
I can see where Ryanair are coming from though, as they are losing massive turnover due to the security measures.
But the majority of the public seem to agree with the security.

Once airlines start to really lose out, as you said 27driver, and the threat is really over, i think it's time to remove such strict measures.

I did laugh at what Mr O'Leary said though 'the terrorists "must be rolling around the caves of Pakistan laughing". Lol

I do agree, Ryanair dosent operate transatlantic aircraft so terrorists wouldnt bother with these airlines because they aim for bigger targets unfortunatly.

The main aim is stop them on the ground like they have done and keep the planes operating, or even better, the airlines should provide free toileteries that are not combustible?

There should be a line between over extreme safety and common sense, we just need to find it and hit the spot right on the place where everyone is pleased with and that nothing like 9/11 or worse can ever happen again.

Ye exactly. The fact that you aren't allowed to take toothpaste onboard i a bit of a joke... the line has been crossed there. That's for sure.
