This is probably the most absurd amount of money I have ever seen.

The passenger side of me says, "haha", because it doesn't like Southwest

The pilot side of me says, "totally unacceptable, I swear people must be constantly running a thought through their head every day asking, "ok, who can I possibly sue today?"

Oh yes she will, because if she doesn't initially, it means yet more court proceedings for SWA, more embarassment, more press. I'm sure they don't want anymore negative press

Southwest airlines is in trouble again with another lawsuit,

Southwest, Boeing Sued By Parents Of Dead Boy

I think the Parents should get something out of this. they disserve it...

From the article:
"Southwest denies its flight attendants did anything wrong and intends to appeal the verdict, spokesman Ed Stewart said. "We stand by our actions," Stewart said.
It wouldn't be the first time a verdict against them was overturned if it happens.

Well, that suit was to be expected. As is the case anytime some one is killed in a crash, passenger or not.

Its a scary world we live in now not just because of terrorists and the like but an ever increasing amount of people sueing for the daftest thing!

It happens so much in the UK and USA that we have all these weird regulations that sounds just darn mad, also you hear on the papers about people being sued just for not chopping a tree down in their garden, complete madness or what icon_eek.gif

Southwest can appeal this case. So, If they appeal and win...she wont get a penny. (Or she may get much less if they appeal and win). I assume that you believe that the lady who had coffee spilled on her at Macdonnalds actually walked away from her case with millions? People always hear about these huge settlements, but for some reason no one ever hears about when a big company comes back to win an appeal.
