Take a look at this..A380 in Singapore Airlines livery.. SIA will be the first one to fly the A380 when it will enter the market! Very neat Pic.

Here is the pic.. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1003688/L/

Speechless.... I love it... It looks better than I thought... This is an emotive pic given the fact that this was the A380 that I saw when it came to Colombia...

I dont no, i mean, it the biggest airplane in the world, but mean, i think SIA could have done a better job on the livery with its introduction to the market. The paint job looks like something i see on schemes from the 70's

Yeah I agree. I like Airbus and the A380, but this livery isn't doing it for me.
Im tha king
I was about to submit a post about this, but who cares, this is much better, the plane is MSN004, the one who visited Canada for cold-weather testing. Here's the text from Flightinternational:

Pictures: First photos of Airbus A380 in full Singapore Airlines' livery

Airbus has applied the colours of A380 launch operator Singapore Airlines (SIA) to one of its development aircraft (MSN004), which departed Toulouse earlier today for the Asian Aerospace air show in Singapore (pictured below).

http://www.flightglobal.com/assets/getAsse...px?ItemID=11530

The aircraft, which was recently deployed to Iqaluit, Canada, to undertake cold weather trials, is scheduled to land at Singapore’s Changi airport at 06:30 tomorrow. SIA says the aircraft is most likely to land on one of Changi’s northerly runways (02L or 02R), after which the aircraft will taxi to a parking position on the cargo apron on the northern side of the airfield.

The arrival will mark the second visit by the A380 to Singapore, as the city state was the first stop on the ultra-large aircraft’s Asia-Pacific tour in November last year. The aircraft will take part in the daily flying display dueing Asian Aerospace, which runs from 21-26 February.

Airbus released several photos of the aircraft after completing the livery work, in its hangars in Toulouse and waiting to take off at the abrevoir flight test centre building (below).

a380 is second largerst. the a225 still beats it by a long margin.

yes indeed a very beautiful pic it is.. now. hey there, hmm is there some more pictures hehehe i love it though but are there any other asian airlines that had purchased A380 aircraft?
AIRCRAFT ENGINEER
McC - you would probably think a sidewall seat in a C-17 is comfortable, too. I'm pretty sure even the 124 is "bigger" than the 380 at least INTERIOR VOLUME.

:D ...

(says the engineer who has numerous times ridden in the back of a C-141 and C-130 on 1 way trips - "up" but not "down"... STAND UP!... HOOK UP!...)

Yep. Its an Airbus hiding.gif

ok low blow, but hey, what else can i say. The market right now doesn't really need a monster like the A380. It is a major accomplishment to have that aircraft around, it is, but wheres the market for it?? Not anywhere on this planet.

Very Much agreed. In my humble opinion, that is one ugly airplane. It is a flying whale and about as overweight as one and when they get done fixing the "Wing Problem" it will be even more overweight.

I totally agree with you, they could have a new livery and this is the perfect moment, but still looks stunning!

We have to wait, maybe Singapore Airlines have a surprise for us!

Don't you think!

When fuel supplies run low, you will be glad the A380 is around otherwise you will get fewer changes to get on jets.

hey, im just speaking the truth. no airline would pay to fill up a 380 when the fuel shortage gets that low.

Do Exactly what the airliners have been doing for years. Flying the 747,757,767,777. Its not like flying from the USA to Europe is a new concept here. . . . . Is the A380 really going to change that???

Boeing 747 nutkick.gif Airbus 380

Hope you like humor in that one

Oh, and if you can, ask me a question that hasn't already been answered by years of aviation.

Not Impressed.

And no i am not bashing the A380 or Airbus either here
That livery is just plain awful, the big letters ruin it.

But best of luck to it anyways.
AIRCRAFT ENGINEER
the 380 is more of a "Pacific" thing. LONG routes, hi-density

(the humerous response was to your assertion that the 380 dies when the oil dries up)

Pacific Thing??? Thats the first time I've heard of the Pacific Ocean referred to as the Pond. Oh, and no i wasnt referring to when oil dries up. . . Just that boeings 747-800 is going to kick airbus' 380 straight in the balls when it rolls off the plant floor

You have obviously done no research whatsoever. The A380 is more economical than the current 747-400, so when fuel levels do run low, airlines will make more profit filling these giants than 747's. You may think the A380 drinks more than the 744, but the 747 is an old design, A380 is brand spanking new. I am still asking myself why every topic here turns into a flamefest.
flyingfox
Hey i agree with karl there, i know everyone is used to the 744 because its been around for 35 years but i can garantee that the A380 will be just as good in 2040 8)

Hey karl, have you heard of the 747-800?? Sure it cant hold a million people in it with a single class config, but its fuel burn will be alot less. PLUS, im saying that if the fuel shortage goes low, the A380 will NOT BE AROUND due to the fact that airlines will not be flying as many long haul routes. No airline would pay that kind of money to fill up one airplane for a single flight. Its just ridicules, and if you had any common sense you would be able to see that.

Because there were no other airplanes in the current market to compete with it. The A380 is just a waste of space, both on the ground and in the air. How are pax going to feel when it takes an hour just to load and unload the aircraft, and then, wait for their luggage?? Airbus just went to big on this one.
AIRCRAFT ENGINEER
So... the same was said (too big) about the 747 when it came out. I would tell you though, that having 3 - 747s arrive at the "same" time and having pax converge on immigration and baggage at the same time is at least as bad as 1 - 380.

Strictly speaking, the ability to haul more pax in a SPECIFIC arrival slot (and they ARE getting "full" - so without more runways - "poof - no more space") is more efficient (of course, it depends on the route structure as well)

The MARKET will tell it whether it works OR NOT as the case may be.

3 747's = 1 380?? Dude, get your numbers right. With 3 Boeing 747's in a three class config (just so i can give you the benefit of the doubt with as little pax on the boeing as possible) it would equal to more than 1044 pax. 1 380 in a SINGLE SEAT CONFIG = 840 pax. where did you get your info from, CAUSE ITS WRONG. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT OR LOOK LIKE AN **I have a dirty mouth**.
AIRCRAFT ENGINEER
due to the unloading times involved and the fact that everyone can't hit the lines at the same time it just "feels like it" . It's bad enough at SEA when 2X 747 get in within minutes of each other (particularly when they push the "through pax" thru the immigration line first because the rest of us are "home")

OK to make you happy - then 2x 747 versus 1x 380 (but no matter what it's a real pain - and where I usually go and what time I usually arrive, 3x747 or 2x plus 1x 777 seem to hit the ground at about the same time. if that becomes "common place" it won't make for happy travellers. The 800 pax version will come "later")

EVERY PLACE IS GOING TO GET A MAJOR IMPACT WITH THAT KIND OF TRAFFIC. it will make no difference whether its 4 Boeings and one big really crappy airbus that arrive at the same time or what. the fact is that when the a380 finally hits the pavement, its going to create more of a hassle then do anyone, or company, any good.
