I was wanting to know how you can convert a file off the camera to put onto DVD.

I use Nero Express and there's only 4 types of files that you can convert onto DVD.

Depending on your video editing software you can convert the project file to a 'DVD', If you look at the directory of a DVD You will find 'VIDEO_TS' and 'AUDIO_TS', no actual videos that you can playback, Copy the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders to the route of your DVD In Nero. and Burn.

Or, I remember correctly Nero can support .avi files and will encode them when you burn the DVD, I don't know of a single (Assuming your on a windows machine icon_razz.gif ) Piece of editing software that won't convert any video format (That is compatible with the software in the first palce) To .avi

Good Luck!

WMV is crap for this, it's nearly unusable once done. Apart from Windows movie maker I don't know a program that will let you edit it.
Some tools can convert it into to another format so that you can use the content again, but as always it's a useless conversion that will lose quality.

So, if it's a video you made yourself always use your DV .AVI file again, or archive in another format like high bitrate DivX AVI that can be retreated very easily when you want to make a new release.
