MY AIRCRAFT TO DUBAI WAS A BOEING 777-300ER, THEN FROM SINGAPORE TO GLASGOW A BOEING 777-300. THE SAME APPLIES ON THE RETURN TRIP.

TAKE OFF TIME 2.55AM. PERFECT TAKE OFF.!!
SEAT NUMBER 20F. AN AISLE SEAT, SECOND FROM THE END.HORRENDOUS AS I THOUGHT I HAD THE SEAT AT THE VERY BACK OF THE PLANE BOOKED. EVEN WORSE HAVING BLOKES ON BOTH SIDES OF YOU SO I NEVER GOT A SLEEP AT ALL.
WE LANDED AT SINGAPORE AT 8.05 AM. 27 DEG C THERE AND SHOWERY, BUT FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON WE WERE ALLOWED TO REMAIN ON THE AIRCRAFT WHIST IT WAS BEING CLEANED AND REFUELLED. I THOUGHT WE ALL HAD TO VACATE DURING THIS PROCESS, BUT ANYWAY IT SUITED ME AS I COULD DO SOME EXERCISES.
TAKE OFF TIME 10 AM.
ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL AT DUBAI WAS 6 HOURS AND 39 MINUTES.

WE WERE DELAYED FOR ONLY 20 MINUTES THOUGH.
THIS BLOKE NEXT TO ME FELL ASLEEP WITH HIS TRAY DOWN SO I GENTLY REMINDED HIM THAT IT HAD TO BE STOWED AWAY FOR TAKE OFF. NO DOUBT THE CABIN CREW WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM BUT THEY WERE NOW SEATED FOR TAKE OFF.

WE LANDED IN DUBAI ON RUNWAY 20C AT 12.40 PM. THE TEMPERATURE HERE WAS 44DEG C. HOT.
A PREFECT LANDING BUT WHIST THE PLANE WAS STILL TAXIING,THIS STUPID FEMALE, WHO HAD TOO MUCH TO DRINK, GOT OUT OF HER SEAT AND WAS CHATTING TO THESEW GUYS IN FRONT OF HER.IF THE CABIN CREW HAD SEEN HER..WELL...I HAVE TO SAY THAT SHE WAS RATHER LOUD AND RUDE.IT WAS OFFENSIVE THE THINGS SHE WAS SAYING AND I WAS GLAD SHE WAS STAYING IN DUBAI.

ON OUR WAY TO THE HOTEL IN DUBAI.
THIS WAS AN AMAZING PLACE TO STAY AT. THE MILLENIUM HOTEL..I WAS PICKED UP AT THE AIRPORT NO BOTHER AND WAS GIVEN A LOT OF FOOD VOUCHERS FOR FREE MEALS. JUST SUPERB FOOD AND STAFF. TO BE RECOMMENDED.

I COULD NOT VIDEO ANY MORE TAKE OFFS AND LANDINGS DUE TO THE FACT THAT FROM GLASGOW TO DUBAI, I HAD A WIDE SEAT AND SO COULD NOT SEE OUT OF THE WINDOW FAR LESS VIDEO.

I KEPT ON LEANING ONTO THE PASSAGE AT TIMES AND WITH FOLK AND THE CABIN CREW MOVING BACK AND FORTH I NEVER GOT MUCH REST. THE LIGHTS THOUGH WERE SOFT PINKS AND PURPLES AT THE SIDES AND ABOVE ME IT WAS LIKE STARS. SO PEACEFUL. I TOOK A QUICK VIDEO OF IT BUT IT DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE REALLY. VERY CALMING EFFECT

WE HAD TO DISEMBARK THIS TIME BUT WE HAD TO GO BACK THROUGH SECURITY AND CUSTOMS, WHICH I FELT WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND TROUBLE. I KNOW THERE WERE OTHER PASSENGERS TRAVELLING TO BRISBANE BUT COULD THEY NOT HAVE GIVEN US A PASS OR SOMETHING. LUCKILY I HELD ONTO MY SEAT TICKET, NEVER THINKING I WOULD NEED TO SHOW IT AGAIN!.

WE HIT REALLY BAD TURBULENCE JUST AS WE WERE CROSSING THE LAND AT THE NORTH OF AUSTRALIA. JUST AS WE WERE APPROACHING MOUNT ISA. I KNEW IT WAS SERIOUS WHEN THE CABIN CREW WERE TOLD TO BE SEATED.
THIS WENT ON FOR MAYBE HALF AN HOUR THEN THE CAPTAIN SAID THAT HE WOULD TRY DROPPING THE HEIGHT TO MAKE THE FLIGHT MORE COMFORTABLE FOR US.
I WATCH THE MONITOR AND THIS IS WHAT I SAW.

GROUND SPEED 607 TO 610 MPH.
STILL DROPPING HEIGHT, NOW AT 35,231 FEET. AIRSPEED 549MPH. GROUND SPEED 612 MPH.
SEEMD TO HAVE LEVELLED OUT AT 35,000 FEET. AIRSPEED 553 MPH. GROUND SPEED 614 MPH.

I WAS PROBABLY HALF ASLEEP THAT IS WHY I HAVE SOME OF THE DATA IN KMS AND SOME IN FEET.
TO CONCLUDE THOUGH, I HAVE TO SAY THAT UNITED EMIRATES ARE THE BEST AIRLINE I HAVE FLOWN WITH. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. THE FLIGHT CREW VERY INFORMATIVE. THE CABIN CREW VERY EFFICIENT.I CANNOT WAIT TO FLY WITH THEM AGAIN.

I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT I WAS NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO FLYING ON MY OWN HALF WAY AORUND THE WORLD AND BACK, BUT FOR ANY OF YOU WHO WHO LOVE TO FLY TO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BUT ARE A BIT APPREHENSIVE ABOUT GOING ON YOUR OWN.
