Our company Aerostar had just undergone an inspection at the Ft. Worth Texas Meacham airport and I was literally sitting at my computer looking for airline flights for the following Monday to DFW to pick her up and fly her back to LFT, when my long-time friend and former co-worker Bob Sandberg gave me a call. He was waiting for his passengers at Knoxville, TN (TYS) and had some free time to catch up before flying his company's Falcon 10 back home to LFT. In our conversation, he mentioned that he had to drop off the Falcon at Meacham on Monday for maintenance and would have to rent a car for the eight and a half hour drive back.

I said, "Say that again? You're going to Meacham? Monday?"

Awesome! Symbiosis defined.

The following videos bring you along on my "hitched" ride to Meacham as the sole passenger in the Falcon:

Part 1 includes engine start, taxi, takeoff and climb to FL320.

Part 2 includes the rest of the flight, starting with the initial descent out of FL320, approach, landing, taxi, and engine shutdown...

I have a few other videos that have been around for a while here, but it had been quite some time since I uploaded anything new. When this opportunity presented itself, I had to find my camera, a clean tape and charge the battery. In other words, I was rusty in my videographer skills. And after watching the output, wish I could have planned it better and do it all over again. No regrets, however.

It was a blast! icon_cool.gif

Can't say anything to that...

But as said - great views, you've been really lucky to get to fly on this one... and apparently enjoyed it, great!

Don't worry about planning, at least you had fun, usually if you plan you forget to enjoy, and in the end it doesn't work out as planned anyway icon_wink.gif

Thanks Kilrah!

It was great fun. I'm just not as steady or skilled with the camera as some of you are. When I watch your work, for example, I can only marvel and think, "I should have done that!" (though, I know its not as simple as that.). But, you're right. I have been lucky with such opportunities. It's just a shame that i can't use these opportunities as well as some of you skilled folks could...

But, hey. Its all fun anyway! icon_cool.gif
