Anyone else notice that at heavy traffic times the ATC sucks?

I mean I will fly approaches into YVR where I know from real life approach speeds from listening to the tower while spotting out there. But I am constantly getting poor vectors to squeeze me into a bad spot too close to the 747 in front of me and even with my 737 just above stall speed I have to go around.

Anyone else have that problem? Is the standard ATC just not that intelligant?

Yes the ATC in flight sim isn't that intelligent but there is a program called FSUIPC that puts the air traffic into holding patterns and helps minimize the go-arounds.
