Full Version: 2 Questions Regarding Boeing737: Nd And Atc

Hello all. I'm an FSX user and trying to become more proficient in flying like we're supposed the fly airliners using this sim. The first question is regarding the Boeing 737 doing an ILS approach. I noticed on the ND, that just before I began approach, I will see what appears to be a dotted white line that appears across the arrival airport (also shows runway) on the navigation display. It seems to appear when I go into the FMC and execute the Departure/Arrival runway and LEGS wayppoint. What is that dotted line? Is the Localizer beam? I noticed that I seem to capture the localizer as my aircraft makes contact with that dotted line on the ND.

Other question is regarding the jargon used by the ATC on FSX, during flight. It's when they say "proceed on course" and "resume on navigation". Does either one of these statements mean the same as the other? I tend to hit the LNAV button on the FCU when the ATC uses the "resume on navigation" call. I think that's right. Insight?
