Greetings y'all

So, lately I've had this problem where every now and then I would go to open the ATC text window (or it would pop up on it's own after ATC tells me something) and the box would be there but no text would be there. This applies to all text, for instance if I set the parking break I just get the red background at the bottom part of the screen where it should say "Press . to release parking break" and also the cokpit "tips" just show a little white rectangle the size the text should be

FS2004 doesn't start like this, it happens sometime during the flight and won't fix itself until I exit and restart FS.

The "responses" work but if I need to request a different runway or something like that it's really hard to try and memorize all of those number responses icon_lol.gif

It is most likely a graphics driver issue....Return to stock card settings and see if it fixes the prob. Ensure you have the latest stable drivers, upgrade if necesary....

I only have one card and it's the one that came with the machine (Dell XPS laptop)

Have you tried the settings on FS, it may be that the system is having a memory bleed prob, so have a little tweak with the settings, will drain less power from the CPU, it will work with a better frame rate too. If not then re-install FS

Doesn't sound like a graphics issue to me, since FS is still running fine. Sounds more like a font issue. Try searching through the FS install discs for font files, and ensuring they are all installed (and not duplicated) in your system font folder. I'm not sure if FS uses stock fonts or its own, but if your FS fonts are being corrupted then the text will not display properly.
