I want to improve my Navigation ability.
Can anyone recomend a Top DVD for Nav Subjects?
Piltdown Man
Skip the DVD's. Get some (very) old books on nav. Practice mental maths, drawing straight lines and measuring distances on charts. Glue the lot together and you'll go for miles (without getting lost).

No, I'm really serious. Nav. is a very simple subject but far too many people make it very complicated with lots of difficult measuring and planning. In its simplest form, it is just about time and direction. Without knowing your speed across the ground you can still be amazingly accurate with ETA's and tracks. This will nomally suffice for the execution phase for most private flights. But before commiting aviation, it is probably worthwhile to have a reasonable estimate as to the expected time enroute to ensure that you will have sufficient fuel (and daylight!), but reasonable is the word. Now, with the money you have saved on the DVD, you can have a few beers instead.

Your Advice is Appreciated.
Thankyou for attending my Forum Request with Interest.
This is year One of a Certificate 4 in Transport and Distribution.
It' is a Tafe Qualification. There's still quite a Jump between this Technical Course and Sitting a full CASA CPL exam.
Next year will be a period of Consolidation.
I passed AGK
OHS
Human Factors
Team Work and Communication
I'll have to resit Aerodynamics and Nav
A Bak next year brings me closer to an actual flying encounter at the aerodrome.
Some Funds from work available for Flying Lessons.
and the CPL subject's on a 3-4 year Home Study Program using online course and exam repetition..
As I've really only looked at the Course Content this time around without being fully familia with it. .
I expect to be more confident with 1 in 60's TCP's and DCP's.
Less prone to 120x DEV mistakes.
and finding W/V which I forget.
next year.
It's not difficult. . but does need some remembering..
I don't expect to ever fly for an Airline. .
Yet I would like to emerge with a CPL and a lazy DC3 by the end of the Day?
As far as Standard Rules go. .
Could I ask you for a few Nav Pointers from time to time?

I wouldn't ask me in particular because there are lots of people on this site far more qualified to answer than me. Also, I may not be able to respond that quickly. Instead, just post any questions you have and I'm sure you'll get a sensible reply before too long.
