Hi yall i was looking at all atps website and I was thinking about the ATP program. now my question is that for the ATP program which cost $50,000 does that include Private, Instrument, ME, Commerical and the ATP? Because I would think that $50,000 just for the ATP is a bit expensive. Do I have to have the rest of the ratings before entering the program? here is a link

That program gets you:
  • Private (Multi-Engine)
  • Instrument
  • Commercial (Single-Engine and Multi-Engine)
  • Certified Flight Instructor (Single-Engine, Multi-Engine and Instrument)
  • High Altitude Endorsement
  • High Performance Endorsement
It does not include PPL SE or ATP. You need a PPL before you can start that program, and you can get it on your own (plus some time requirements) or through their PPL program ($9,000) with 85 hours. Their ATP certificate course is separate from the main program ($2,000).

BTW, welcome to the forums plane.gif

galxy,
riversiderebel3 is from Costa Rica and the original riversiderebel you referred to was from Louisiana.

If riversiderebel3 isn't a noobie, I wonder who he is, because rr3 just joined today.

Yes sir actually I am the same person. I moved to Costa Rica to live with my father. I am the same Riversiderebel from Garyville, Lousiana. I am currently living in San Jose Costa Rica. Sorry for the confusion. It is just that flt350 would not let me sign in with my previous email. But now that we have sorted that all out we can continue. Thanks for you interest by the way!

I also tried to get the Support Team to help me but they said nothing could be done. So I made a new email and created a new Flight Level 350 account because it means so much to me. I have learned a whole bunch with this gang and wan't to keep being a part of it. I made RIVERSIDEREBEL3 in order so people could have an idea it's the same old cajun redneck from Lousiana! icon_biggrin.gif

Strange.
The forum username isn't the e-mail address. You're supposed to login with "riversiderebel" and the password you had with the forum account (forum and main site accounts are separate). If you don't know the password anymore there's a password recovery feature that will send you a new one to the e-mail address you had registered with "riversiderebel".

yes sir the problem is that for some particular reason when I first registered, something was wrong with my email. I created an email just for the original riversiderebel, my computer then remember my log in and password. I was logged in the whole time. My other computer fried and I bought a new one and now it has been so long that I forgot the original email I used. Once again sorry for the confusion sir.

It just so happens that the very flight school that you're looking into is the flight school that I did my accelerated multi/commercial/instrument ride with about a month ago.

Let me tell you what I've been told by their CFIs, friends that have gone through their program, and what I learned myself in my experience.

They teach you how to pass checkrides. Will they teach you what you need to know to be a good pilot? Yes, probably. But there will be very little if any going above and beyond what it takes to get you past your checkride, as you are on a pretty strict time schedule.

The aircraft are nice and well kept, the sims are excellent, the CFIs are all right. The cost is generally through the roof, but you get through fast.

If it were my kid, I'd be just fine with doing accelerated add-ons through ATP. But I'd rather see time taken and attention to detail on the PPL and the instrument especially. Just my opinion, and your mileage may vary.

Very WISE comments, cessnapilot72! ....particularly "there will be very little if any going above and beyond what it takes to get you past your checkride..." Like you, I won't fault the company for doing that, BUT the folks buying it MUST, aboslutley MUST, be aware of the significance of your statement! Good on ya!

PS ... With that kind of attitude I'd tell you that you were welcome to come fly with me any time ... but, your Dad probably has "dibs" on that - and I don't blame him. Tell him I said "Hi."
