What is your favourite plane in Flight simulator and what is your reason for liking this plane?

Mine has to be either the A330 or 767 because they both land very smoothly!

What's yours?. Some screenshots of your favourite planes might be a good idea too!

Although this topic has been created many times and should be in civil aviation topic, I'll have to say the Triple seven (777-200) and the Airbus a320.
Only because there both masterpieces in avaition history.

Oh and welcome to FL350, you'll have fun here.

Mine would have to be the awesome freeware Cessna 150 that has just been released. Its seriously better quality than a fair bit of payware. Here is a link to somewhere where I posted my screenshots, of my first repaint (I repainted the 150 to look like the one I soloed in- is that sad?). Bear in mind that they may look bad quality, but thats my repainting skills, which does no justice to the aircraft model itself. (Note that some of the pictures are of the real aircraft, for comparison).

Any 727, DC-9, MD-8x, or MD-11/DC-10. I love the tail mounted engines.

I would have to say the 737 and 747 because they are easy to control and two of the most popular planes that ever went on the market and also because I still can't figure out how to download new aircraft even with the instructions given in a different post. I can get the file downloaded but somehow it isn't getting in the right folder or something. So when I open FS2004 I can't choose the aircraft that I downloaded. If someone would post a detailed step-by-step process of how everything shou;d work it would be greatly appreciated.

This is in the Flight Simulation subforum, so I guess, no, you obviously mean one in Flight Simulator.

Mine are:
Fly the Maddog 2006 (MD-82)
Digital Aviation Do-27
Carenado 182RG
Real Air SF.260 2007.
kc135dood
There are a lot of aircraft that I like to fly, but I've been so in the mood with the DeHavilland Twin Otter
DHC-6!
Aspiring Boeing + Airbus Pilot
one of my favourites would have to be the SAS MD11 from simviation - i too love the tail mounted engines!
Another being the 767

I would be able to answer this question better if I could actually get my downloaded aircraft to work. I can get it downloaded, but when I open up FS2004 the plane isn't there to fly. I don't know what to do to get it to work. I've put it in the Aircraft Folder like one of the posts said, but the plane's just not there. Help me please.

I'm torn between two great aircraft. the 737NG and the 777-200. They both are great aircraft.
A340-600
it has to be the 777-200. In my opinion, the -300 is too long.
Hamilton
For me it has to be the 747-400 my most favorite plane both in real life and in FS9, love the way when this beast comes in for a landing and touches down so smoothly, ofcourse I do like other planes as well, like the 77W, Airbus 330-300 and the MD-11. When it comes to narrow bodies, I love the 737NG and the 32X series.

Aircraft that I have been flying at the moment are a Malaysia Airlines 747-200 and a NAMC YS-11.

My favourite aircraft are nearly every turbo prop! Especially Bombardier's, Saab's and Dornier's. Jets that I like are McDonnell Douglas MD-80, Boeing 767-300, Boeing 717-200, Airbus A330-300 and Fokker 100.

I am not particularly fond of the 777 (don't like the interior and the front section of the plane looks very chunky), the 747 (Just too big) and the A380 (Ridiculous, huge, extremely ugly)

Hey Welcome to the forums man. Here is the deal. What aircraft have you downloaded. The aircraft have to have 4 main folders in order for it to show up.
-Panel
-Sound
-Model
-Texture

Download an aircraft that contains those four files. remember to only put the file containing these four files into fs9>aircraft

What i mean is that some files come with a bunch of subfolders. example: poskya330
-Airbus330posky
-panel,sound,model,texture
DO NOT put the poskya330 file into your aircraft section. only put the file that contains the four main foulders, in this caise Airbus330posky.

If you need help gettin a panel and sounds for your new aircraft I will be here and just let me know.

Glad to Help,
David

Ya, there is one thing. I downloaded an SGA MD-83 with American and Alaska textures. The plane looks fine, but the plane sounds like my Beechcraft and has the panel of the 737. Maybe the panel is normal, but something is wrong with the sound. I also have an MD-11 and that panel is the same as a 777. All of this is in FS2004. I hope this helps a little bit. Thanks a bunch.

Don't worry, when you download an aircraft it doesn't always have the same cockpit and sounds as the real thing. Developers do this probably because it takes ages to make a cockpit and make the sound files etc or they don't have access to real sounds.

Try to find an aircraft that has a cockpit that matches the aircraft as well as sounds. A good way to find out is look in the files section before downloading the aircraft. Have a look at the sound readme file and the cockpit (panel) readme file.
Here are some links to show you what I mean: (from Flightsim.com)

http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/file?rk=BfCvJ...main/search.htm

Next to the word 'download' you will see another section saying 'view', have a look in there and see if you can find a file saying panel. ( We will look at the FS2004 Sea World Boeing 737-700)

http://fs1.flightsim.com/cgi/zview?cm=view...panel/panel.cfg

It tells you here that the panel is from a Boeing 737-400, not a 737-700.
Now lets check the sound files:

http://fs1.flightsim.com/cgi/zview?cm=view...sound/sound.cfg

The sound file is from the 737-400 not the 700.

This is what it should look like if an aircraft has proper sound and panels:

http://fs1.flightsim.com/cgi/zview?rk=BfCv...main/search.htm

You can see here that the aircraft has all the necessary sound files and if you click on the panel file it says 737-200. That would be a complete airplane icon_smile.gif

I hope I cleared things up for you!

Thank you very much, that clears up a lot of things. I might try to find some new downloads, but right now I'm busy breaking in my Fedex MD-11. If I have any more questions I won't hesitate to ask.

Well in flight simulator 2004, mine will be the 734 and the Aerosim L-1011 – 500 as my favorite add-on.

In FS? Er, it would have to be the 747 (PMDG). It's great to take off, let it fly itself for several hours as I do something else, then eleven or so hours later I come and land it. Great fun!

I'd have to say the LDS 763ER, simpy due to it's realism. It's also a nice looking plane with incredible range, though maybe a little dated now. I love the A340-600 too, it's too long, looks like a hotdog and can hardly climb to save itself - it doesn't have much going for it, but I still love it to pieces!

Cheers,
Chris

Moderators could easily merge these posts, anyone?

On topic, I love the Captain Sim 757 & the Project Fokker 70/100.

I really do love the PSS 777 Professional add on for FS2004 although I have to agree with you all about the 777 - 300, it really does look too long.
