Get down to you local airport and take pics. You can also view high altitude aircraft flying overhead if you have a pair of binoculars.
Tim
some anoraks may also write down aircraft registrations too ;)

Go to the airport.......stand outside the fence in a good position with a camera in one hand and a waterbottle in the other(hey, you may get thirsty ;) ). Or you can stay outside my grandparents house which has all the trafic from the airports flying right over their house(just kidding)
Then when a plane goes by.....TAKE A PICTURE!!!! or just watch it fly over!

Oh, and be prepared to be queried by the cops.....they're just doing their job..... :D

i tried plane spotting once at syd kingsford airport.. and that time cops came up to me and ask for my IDs.
they used some stupid excuse to search me (e.g. "theres been complaints from the local about people loitering, gang fights, blah blah blah).

so i learnt my lesson not to take pictures of planes at the airport.

p.s. luckily they didnt strip search me   icon_razz.gif

Hey, I often go spotting at SYD also.

If at Sydney you are going to the end of runway 16R, make sure you are on the "other" side of the road. I went with a friend and we were asked to move on by the Federal police, who was very friendly. There is a rule that you have to be 3 metres away from the boundary fence <_<

Also, PM me if you want some terrific spots that you can visit at Sydney airport without getting bugged and searched icon_razz.gif by the police....who are doing a good job!!!

one time I went out into my front yard and took a pair of binoculars and started plane spotting. It was cool. B)
