Hello,I'm Using IVAO, As an Air traffic controller at bristol. I'm being trained to give clearances to aircraft, for EX.

Speedbird 261, cleared to malaga via WOTAN U1 departure, Sq. 1126.


How do i no what intersection to give for departure? i.e. WOTAN U1

Because i've looked on map view, around bristol airport and there is load's of intersections and VOR'S. Do i read it off the flight plan they send me? or do i chose the best one randomly on the map view? I expect it will be something complicated, but....

WOTAN U1 sounds like a SID to me, not an intersection.

I'm not trying to be awkward or anything, but wouldn't it be better to ask the person training you? That's what they are there for is it not?

Yeah, that's definitively the trainer/instructor's job.

WOTANU1 definitely sounds like a SID. They change depending on departing Runways (which should be fairly clearly visible on an SID chart),
