Is it just me or does an aircraft washroom seem like a really dirty place to be getting friskie? It would be like doing it in one of those port-o-potty things that drunken teenagers, (much ike myself), enjoy tipping over. They smell funny and they just seem really dirty inside.
I understand being upset at being interrupted.. *been there..done that* But I mean c'mon.. they were in an aircraft washroom. That's not exactly the most discrete place to go. Of course they were going to get caught, it was only a matter of time. They had no right to lash out at the flight crew for doing their jobs. Me, on the other hand... I was fully justified in throwing that drink at that security guard. He was a peeping tom!
I think if people want to act like pigs on flights, why should be put in pens and cages and booked on a cargo flight. ...or fly Southwest <--hehe couldn't resist. No really, I love Southwest!
As for that fine, they got of real easy. I read about a guy that was on a Northwest 747 when he got drunk and disorderly. The crew decided to land at Anchorage to get rid of him. They had to dump fuel to land! The judge ordered him to write like a hundred thousand word essay on the environmental effects of dumping that much jet fuel over Alaska. Northwest got their claws into him for a hefty sum of money for diverting the trip as well. Finally he had to write a full letter of apology to ever single passenger and crew member onboard the flight, for making their job harder and ruining their trips. The judge made sure he had three years of "free time" to do all this.
Gives a new meaning to "the pen." Haha.

QUOTE(F-14 Tomcatter) Electronic Newspaper Said:
Now the duo, from Luton, Beds, have been arrested and face being charged with air rage. They may also have to bear the 20,000 ($58,950) cost of diverting the plane.
-Wow! Over 58 Thousand for diverting the plane? I hope they finally realize that airline are going to fine you if you get down and dirty in the Lavatory! LOL
And quite right too..there is far too much disruption in planes for one reason or another as i posted in another place about the "bomb"..it cost £25,000..who pays for all this? The airlines cannot afford to keep on footing the bill because of stupid pax..i say make them all pay and then it will serve as warning to the others.
