Members, as you know during WW2, there was a devastating amount of deaths and injuries. On Sunday, we all have a 1 minute silence to remember that people the died for our countries. RIP.

Yes RIP to all those volunteers who fought as a team and not just for themselves. Hope you are all wearing poppies, I am not sure what time the 1 minute silence is. But my school is holding an assembly about it with a 1 minute silence before.

I read a poem in assembly today. Its unfortunate some people don't appreciate what those brave men did for us.

The official amount of time that you are silent for is 2 minutes. This includes both armistice day which is on 11th November of each year and remembrance Sunday. I shall be leading my cadets into the remembrance occasions this Sunday. We shall not forget those who perished fighting for freedom and those being unfortunately ordered to fight on either side.

In the end we didnt just end up having a 2 minute silence in the classroom. All 6th formers and years 7 and 8 went out to the flag pole and gathered round. Headteacher read out a speech and then on of the students in my tutor group played the trumpet. As soon as he finished you could he a gun being fired in the background from the centre of town to mark the 2 minute silence. Then you heard it at the end and Ed played the trumpet again. It was very moving. At my old school we never did anything like this, and i am so glad to see that schools do believe in remembering their families properly.

RIP to all the heroes of WW2 that died on either side.

My school just had a 2 minutes silence in the classroom. No assembly on it, no big do or anything, which I think is a sad thing. Seems what they did at your school top vapour is a rarity.
