Filming During Take-off And Landing Options

I don't get it. Flight attendants tell you to turn off all portable electronic devices during take-off and landing. So, how is it possible for you guys to film during those time periods? Do you just do it or is there something special that allows you to film?

Please answer ASAP.

Just film like normal. Keep your camera bag under your feet and as soon as you see the attendents going to [their] seats, get your camera out and film. There should be no problem. Well there is no problem if there are all these videos on the web!

I never had problems with the F/A. I always ask permission to them before the flight, and they always say yes.. I think that what is really prohibited is to have an electronic device that interferes to the AC communication with the pilots like, portable computers, mobile phones, AM FM radios.. I think it is all about the signals.. Cameras don't interfere with anything, so there is no problem...

He is right. A camera or video camera does not use a outside frequency like a radio or a wireless modem or something like that. ;) :D

I took a picture oin cruise once tried putting it on airliners but they wouldnt accept it

But, knowing that in fact only transmitting or receiving devices can be dangerous, why do flight attendants sometimes specifically items such as videocams as things NOT to use during take-off or landing?

Airliners.net sometimes are strange in their choices of pictures... That is why I prefer Myaviation.net.. It is more an informative site, you can really see what aircraft has benn of whatever airport at whatever moment...

Airliners.net just wants beautiful pics...
You could have a pic of an aircraft that as a new paint scheme, never went to your airport and landing without gears, they would refuse it if you had never had a pic on A.net..
Instead, they accept the pics of a guy that already uploaded some pics of a plane that has no interest and is common sight in the airport...

I think it is cus takeoff and landing is the most dangerous moment and...during disaster or emergency situation such camera (object) can be dangerous...
But as for me i film when there are no flight attendants cus i had a situation when they asked me to stop filming!!!!!!!!!
So i think that it is better not to come out with camera to flight attendants during these flight phases....fortunately cameras (DV ones) are very small these days...

There is absalutely no problem with filming, airlines just say it to stop them being featured, say there was an incident on board.

I think that some cameras interfere in some way, but no the digital ones.... Don't know exactly, though...
