Hey guys,

I'm having some trouble with this Aerodynamics question:

http://i56.tinypic.com/25ivolx.jpg

I was able to solve for Total pressure by using H = P + sVČ/295. Any ideas on how to approach the rest of the problems?

A = Area
V = Velocity
P = Static pressure
s = Density ratio
H = Total pressure
q = Dynamic pressure

Thanks!

If I say Bernoulli, does a bell ring?

Make sure to state the assumption that the flow is incompressible. At 200 knots max, it's reasonable.

Cheers,

Post count dictates that level unfortunately, but who really weighs a member's reputation based on anything but how they contribute?

Being a loud-mouthed spammer will promote your "status" faster than you can say, "WTF?". But yet, you, I and all others with a clue consider first WHAT a particular member writes over how many TIMES a member writes by a huge order of magnitude.

Effte packs quite a bit in every punch. icon_thumright.gif

Bear in mind that the Cessna 150 is proven to be the best aircraft ever made icon_thumright.gif

Good point - a most forgiving aeroplane for the early. early Students and although not built like Superman - she WILL let you know if she is not happy. I came back to base over the North Sea (well, The Wash anyway - I like to kid myself it was the sea) with a strange fine vibrating sensation in the ruddder pedals - I knew something was amiss in the engine which was delivering required power at that setting and all the Ts and Ps were in the Green.

When I got back - I told engineering who whipped it into the hangar. Apparently, when the took the engine apart one of the pots just came apart in little pieces. Good old Cessna - got me home again.

Unless you do something REAL stupid at low level she will just fly her way out of it, so long as you have got height of course. Height above you is no good. runway behind you is no good. fuel in the bowser is no good - (unless you are on fire) which in itself is another rarity. Yup, like a good old friend - then there is the 152 - sleek and slim and goes like the clappers. The 152A to scare yourself fartless. The 172 to load up and cruise - invariable happy at FL 50. . .? Try it.

Tylerlee, did you figure out the answer to your question? If not, I believe I can help you out..I'm now in Aeronautical Engineering. Were you given any assumptions or just that image?

George

Hey George,

Sorry for my late reply. I solved this problem ten minutes after creating this thread, and I had forgotten about my post. I completed my Aerodynamics class last week, and after stressing out the first week, I grew to really enjoy the material. I'd still never venture into Aeronautical Engineering though! icon_razz.gif
