Airbus 320 Question: Differientating Between Localizer And Glidescope Capturing..., I'm having trouble distinguishing between the two... Options

Hey all, greetings from about 35 miles north of SFO.

I have a question regarding the ILS of an Airbus 320 or 300-ish airliner. I often wondered how to determine whether I was being captured on the ILS with the Localizer and Glidescope. Which display do I need to watch for both the Localizer capture and the Glidescope capture? Would it be on the PFD or ND? And how does the Localizer being captured appear? How does the Glidescope being captured appear?

You have to look at the PFD, that is after you have pressed the "ILS" button next to the FD button.
You read LOC below the attitude indicator, glide slope indications usually on Airbus are on the right side of the attitude indicator. You know you have captured LOC or GS signals when the "needle" on the respective indicators starts to move...that is known as "Glide Slope Alive"...usually if you are doing an ILS approach, you have done a STAR, and the procedure leaves you right on the localizer...so I think "Localizer alive" is not so common, if any.
