I am very exited to be able to fly this Saturday in N7973B. This Beautiful Albatross has recently (August) been shown in a Lexus commercial filmed in Hawaii. The pilot is a friend of mine and has invited me to fly with him, and his wife and friends to a near-by lake for a local fly in. I am hoping to fly right seat in this beauty and will help him wash it Friday night. I tried to find the commercial on-line but was not successful. However pictures of the Albatross are available on Airliners.net. He has a new paint job and a Canadian maple leaf on the vertical stabilizer. I have never flown in an Albatross before. From what I have read, there are fewer and fewer flying in the skys. We have four that reside at KSTS and Paul's plane is one that is airworhty. However he does call the Albatross in general, a "flying emergency!"

The picture below was taken before the new owner took posession of this aircraft.

Wow! At first, I thought you meant the L-39 Albatross. Since I have flown the L-39 numerous times, I would really be ecstatic to fly a floater! Don't forget to take some pictures!

This is the site of the lake that I WAS going to land on in N7973B. I got a call from the pilot this morning that he had to cancel due to major back spasms and cannot move much less fly. I am BUMMED to say the least, but he did give me a raincheck and I will be taking him up on it. I guess I will just have to work tomorrow instead icon_cry.gif

That sounds like fun Becky! I hope you get to go soon. I flew on one of these (I think it was an albatross) on Chalk's Airlines a few years ago from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau. For me it was definitely a unique experience. Have fun!
