In a blink of an eye.... thatīs unfortunately how it is sometimes. Itīs a shame we wait for this blink to pass, before we think and remember a person. I know from a professional point of view he didnīt suffer and was too busy giving his best at the final moments. The pain now comes for all that are left behind with suddenly all the time in the world to think and remember this wonderful person. My sympathies go to his family and friends who after a long time will have to accept the steady pain from his loss and certainly never forget...

Terry, you are cleared to climb unrestricted....

I don't post on many boards in our community and in fact it has been so long since I posted on FL350 I had to get a new ID tonight.
I met Terry about 2 years ago when I was flying our of Ft. Worth (FTW) Meacham. At the time I was managing a King Air and Phazar (FBO) had just opened. So I met a lot of new line guys and one of them was Terry. A very eager guy and myself having been a line guy in the past and understanting what he was doing. Trying to build time and find a flying job, we immediately hit it off.
After a few runs out of our new hangar Terry asked if he could tag along. That was the start of my single pilot King Air operation becoming a classroom in the sky. It was not long and either Terry or another line guy was riding shotgun on on the live legs. I let them sit left on the repo legs. I even had some trips for him that I got him paid ....more than just the lunch I bought. I think it was his first $$ he made flying. We had quite a few good laughs, mostly at our drunk cowboy pax. Remember we are in Ft. Worth. we fly that plane in boots and jeans. Terry moved on after about 8 or 9 months at phazar with some new turbine time in his book. I know he was excited to fly the jets. I had not seen him for about a year, until about a month before the crsh. I was rescuing a pax. of mine that had been kidnapped in Nuevo Laredo. We met at customs in Laredo. I had to explain to him and his CA, what all the news crews were doing filming us as we stood chatting on the ramp waiting for the FBI to debrief my PAX. It was a good visit, an exchange of email addresses and new cell phone #'s, and a promise that I would forward his resume to FLEXJET, my current employ. When I heard about the crash, my first thought was Terry. I called his cell but no answer. I told my wife I hope it was not Terry. But, sometimes you get that feeling.. I told my wife the bad news while she was on her way home from work and she cried the whole way home. I think they only met a couple of times, but she rememberd him well. Her emotion makes me think and appreciate her and my kids even more. She cries, and I write on a message board at 3 AM in the morning. I know, if you do this job long enough you will know some one that will take that last flight on the job. Terry is my third friend to lose. All flying the jets. All competent, safe and knowledeable. As safe as we make this job...There are still risk. But, I would do nothing else.......neither would Terry, he loved to fly. I spoke with his wife Autumn today, there is a celebration of life for him this Sat. night from 7-midninght. Think of him, with us, as we drink to a good friend lost.

Oh man, this is really horrible... I don't remember ever having the pleasure of talking with Terry directly, but to lose such a valued member of this forum and all round great guy is awful for me none the less. I guess it makes it slightly easier that he died doing what he clearly loved, and i'm sure doing the best he possibly could.

You'll be badly missed.
RIP Ttpattyii.

You are very fortunate to have met T/P.. V2PLUS20.. I would have loved to have met him, as I only knew him from talking to him on chat. I am going away to look after my mum for a week but tomorrow night I will raise a glass to Terry..and spare a thought for his wife and children too..

Thank you for your post. I am sure I am not the only one that appreciates a family member coming here to give us a little more info on Terry. Just when I think the world is so big that we can all get lost in the muddle, along comes the aviation community to change all of that. We are brought even closer by Terry's tragic death.

How sad, RIP.
It's surprising how sudden life can be taken away from people.

They do say 'A picture is worth a thousand words.' I don't think anything but that phrase can describe those images and that site.

Thanks for posting the link, Aname.
