They all are. The all served their country, so one needn't be better than the other.

Um, I might be mistaken, but...uh...the Thunderbolt model in use in WWII was the P-47, not the A-10. Perhaps that's where the confusion is. As for the F-86 Sabre...uh, that was in use during the Korean War...but that's close enough for government work.

P-40 Warhawk, David Lee "Tex" Hill when he flew with the 1st AVG "Flying Tigers". Navy torpedo and dive bomber pilot, AVG fighter pilot and 2nd Sqn. commander, AF fighter pilot and 23rd Group commander...went on to become the youngest Brig Gen in the history of the Texas ANG. Member of the National Aviation Hall of Fame and Texas Aviation Hall of Fame.

Ah well.. this is an easy one .. The Fairey Swordfish.. and John Moffat (The Pilot), whom I knew very well and his wife and daughters. In fact his oldest daughter Patricia was in my bother's class. We used to be good friends at school.. John owned a hotel in Grandtully and until a couple of years ago I had no idea he was such a hero. He also had a plane with G-ARK.. reg..

This is the link to the facts about him, but I am very proud to have known him.

also it would appear he was still flying in 2005 according to this article.
