Yesterday I started my take-off roll before circut training and relised I forgot to get a take-off clearance. I was kinda embarrassed contacting ATC getting a clearnce. On climb out I was thinking what the hell was I thinking and thank God ATC didn't say something about it.

Then all of a sudden ATC comes through and says in a very humorous tone '' Delta Delta X-ray...By the way....what the hell happened down there '' After a very long pause I replied '' Ummmm...just testing something'' icon_redface.gif

On a flight some years ago(Contenintal, no idea what model airplane) the captain was giving us his approach talk and in the middle of it(I believe he was talking about the temperature in FL) he was cut off by a cough, one of those annoying ones you get when spit goes down the wrong tube. We heard him click off and the co pilot take over.

Classic, almost like the captain coming over the intercom saying "Well were holding shor -- whoa here we go."

A story from People Express
The F/O on a 727 came out into the galley and stopped to chat with the F/A before going into the lav. He opened the door and began stepping in while exchanging the last of his conversation, while still looking toward the F/A. When he turns he sees that an elderly lady was already in the lav and had neglected to lock the door. So he turns quickly and heads back out into the aisle. Unfortunately, when he stepped into the lav he also stepped in to her panty hose around her ankles. As he made his hasty exit back into the galley, he took the poor lady with him off the pot as they both fell down in the aisle, she halfway out of the potty.

A story from First Class on AA
On a DC-10 flight to Hawaii, a pax enroute to the lav notices Jim Neighbors seated nearby. He had grabbed the door and opened it to go in when he stopped and started to say, "Hey- aren't you Gomer Pyle?!" You guessed it. The occupant of the lav did not lock the door and there they were trying to reach out and desperately close the door while the other pax was holding it open gawking at Jim Neighbors. Needless to say Gomer Pyle couldn't keep a straight face looking at the poor guy behind his fan in the potty...

When I was really little, I use to be scared of the toilets in planes. So I always use to get mum to line up behind and flush the toilet after me, 'cause of that horrible sound and look it had to it!

It isn't really embarrassing, but the last story reminds me of this one.
I once held from the toilet on some flight to Singapore from Sydney. I had so many cups of coke all the way through the flight.
I thought the descent would only take like 10 mins (it took around 25), and I also I thought I could go in about another 5mins after landing, but then the taxiing took over twice that time. It being a 747 wasn't too good either! Unloading all the passengers took about another 25 mins!!...as only two people were checking every single persons passport as they got off the plane icon_mad.gif , so it seemed like forever!!
By then I was like 5dunce.gif
(By the way, I did get to go in the end!..after about an hour!! )

The thing I have learnt is, that they are just toilets..and not scary monsters there to suck you out of the plane.!

I laughed my arse off watching this. Even scared the dog, nightmares and everything...

Did they actually show the "whole" version? I mean, uh, the part where two wooden dolls actually, uh, "do it"? Quite educational....

I was on a flight from DFW to ORD and our captain a very nice Southern lady was giving us our update. Now we all know the MD-80s engines have a very distinctive sound and can be loud at times and it was at this time. After she gave us the update i was able to make out what she said after thinking she turned ff the mic i'm almost positive she said she had to pee so bad that her back teeth were floating and then of course the F/A running up the aisle to tell her she left the mic on and everyone laughing haha long story short the cockpit door never opened at the gate hahaha i felt bad for her icon_twisted.gif

When I was 4 my family took a holiday to the U.K. I wasn't feeling all that well the day of the flight. I just felt really yucky.

My parents thought it was because of the excitement of the trip and flying, (I loved planes back then too). They thought I was just all wound up about it, and thats' what they kept telling me! I felt so sick I didn't even want to go on the damn plane! I just wanted to stay in my bed and sleep. Anyways, they didn't listen. When you're under 4 feet tall, no one takes you seriously.

On the plane, I got the window seat, but I wasn't interested. I felt like I was dieing. This really nice older flight attendant, Cathy, warmed up some ginger ale for me and asked around to see if some other passengers would move to other seats so I could have a lay down. With my airline blankie and pillows I moved to the now empty seats and slept the whole flight away, even through meal service! Cathy had saved me some breakfast though, but I wasn't up to eating.

I moved back to my seat and we landed. Everyone hopped up out of their seats and started to deplane but I felt really really weak. I couldn't even walk. Everyone had their hands full so no one could carry me..and I couldn't move under my own power, so Cathy came to the rescue once again. She said she could carry me to customs or something and then someone could take care of us, (me) from there. Bless her!

Just as she stepped out of the plane and into the jetway... I threw up. icon_sad.gif All over her uniform. Down the back, down the front and the sleeve. It was even in her hair. I felt like I was going to die. But she didn't say a thing about it. She just rubbed my back and said, "awww it's alright." She didn't even put me down or pause. What a trooper. Mother Teresa, eat your heart out.

Looking back on it now, here was this lady who had to be the nicest person ever, who, on top of her own demanding job, took the time to look after me, and wheat happens? She gets barfed on! It's not so much...embarrassing for me..because I was genuinely sick and barfing is what people do when their sick... Every time I think back to that I bow my head in shame because I just feel so bad. 1, because she was so nice and 2, because i know i could never do it. If anyone's sprog ever puked on me I'd strangle it!

My most embarrasing moment wasn't on the flight but after it, and it wasn't my fault either.

Flew home from Munich in 1982 after a Christmas holiday in Austria. My Dad had asked for a souvenire icepick to hang on the wall in the lounge.

I bought said icepick and taped it very strongly to the outside of my case, checked in for the flight home.

Check in staff requested the icepick be placed in the hold seperately so after some prising it came off the case, given a bag-tag and vanished on the belt to the aircraft.

Landed at Luton, went to baggage claim and not a thing was moving.

We all waited....and waited....and waited....

About 2 hours later the bags finally started to come through. A call went over the tannoy asking for me to please go to the customer services dept.

That sinking feeling came over me as I walked over to the desk.

That damn icepick had managed to break one of the belts whilst being unloaded. They told me it should have been taped securely to the side of the case.

I just sighed and wandered to the carpark to drive home, dragging my case and carrying that damn icepick, which ended up in prime position on the lounge wall in Dad's house....I cringed every time I saw it.
