Just a thought, I think that I read somewhere that the Saturn V rocket used 12 tons of propellant per second during the first stage of liftoff. How's that for a fuel bill?
let's see thats 24000 pounds per second, at the average price of gas 4.00 a gal and a conversion rate of 6.9999 pounds per gallon, thats 3,428 gallons per second.. multiply that by 4 and you get:
13,714 dollars per second...
on an average flight time of 4 hours thats 14,400 seconds for a total price of:
197,481,600 dollars per flight
now
at an average of 200 people per flight, thats
$987,408 per person!
