Poor thing! A repair would be... rather expensive icon_lol.gif that overrun caused quite some damage,

Thats scay and the DC10 one aswell, glad no one was hurt but its a shame that two more classic heavies are going to be written off icon_cry.gif

They won't fix that.

It's 24 years old, the main body gear have been ripped out taking most of the structure with them, there is a hole in the tail skid, at least two of the engines are toast, and the forward fuselage is buckled, with creases running up the sides. not to mention the belly damage from the collapsed nosegear.

Tis bird is cooked.

Oh boy, I wouldn't want to be in a tricky situation as that one. Especially not having to make the decision to take-off or to abort with short runway. Lucky, that nothing happened!

Anyway I discovered some footage of a camera near by. Looks scary.

Ey! that's the airport where I go spotting!!! That's the end of runway 36!!!! In the local news said that they're not gonna fix it. Poor thing.

And the video... the camera that got those shots it's the TAMPA Cargo security cam for the entrance to the cargo area. The truck was coming out of the cargo area, to the left (camera's side) is TAMPA hangar, from left to right, it's the Cielos Airlines hangar, Copa Cargo, Florida West and LAN Chile. Then after that you have immediate view to gates 14, 13, 12 and 11, those are the international gates, then gate 10 and the rest are on the other side.

To the left of the TAMPA Cargo Hangar there's a little hill and from there I shot this video, when the A380 came to America to gain its cold & high altitude operations certification for the RR engines.

Anyways thanks, but it was just a lucky find. It simply popped up in front of me, and that plane looked familiar.
Airbuser... next time make sure you'll be there on rainy days for spotting, might get interesting. Thanks for the info on the airport.

With my very meagor knowledge of aircraft design, the one no-brainer I can already guess is the huge amount of stress on the fuselage after something like that. I'm sure a lot of it has been breached (Once again, I have little knowledge of aircraft design) so if someone can correct me, I'd appreciate it very much!
