With Microsoft coming out with the new flight simulator FSX do you have to buy a completely new computer specialized just for that flight simulator? If you do I think that will cut down on how many people buy the product. Also does anyone know if it will be avaliable for the original x-box not the new x-box 360. Thanks

Best regards,
William

1. No. Unless you have an older computer, in that case the answer is yes. Microsoft like with all previous FS produts has just increased the minimum specs of required computers. [New Technologies, Faster computers!.

2. Highly unlikely.

FS2004 works on my computer, and that is very old....less than 1GHz. If you want to run it with everything set to full- resolution, detail etc, then you may want a high-end PC to be able to do that and get a good frame rate.

But Microsoft want it to work with as many PCs as possible, and so will try to make it as flexible as possible.

FSX will be optimised for use with Windows Vista, so to get maximum pleasure from it, I would say either upgrade or yes buy a new one. I might be icon_smile.gif

but thats if you want to get the absolute most out of it. I'd wait and see how FSX runs on your computer first before buying a new computer...just in case you find it runs perfectly.

Meh, Unless DXT 10 will only be Vista Compatible [Or is?] I don't see how it could be much if any better on Vista, we will wait, I guess.

1: No you won't need a new computer for the new Flightsimulator but if you want the graphics maxed out you might.

2: No, it will NEVER EVER, EVER! be on an normal Xbox. Xbox only has a 800mhz CPU, most new games require over 2000mhz P4. Xbox is Direct X 8.1 compliant not 9 compliant so it CANT run Flightsimulator X.

No, that changed ever since Vista got delayed, infact, E3 is on a 7800GTX.
