Hi, i thought i would put this one in to see how you like the change from junk school dinners to Jaime Olivers healthy dinners for schools. :D

You can debate in this one how you would like them to change or stay as junk food

haha ooooooooo there will be a lot going on at my school... at the moment we are electing a 6th form committee and we all have to think of ideas about issues we want to change... and guess what came up.... SCHOOL CANTEEN! anyway i think they are deciding to boycott the canteen (like the whole school!!) because the food is just too expensive. it will be sooooo fun though.. but its like a mars bar... 50p!!!!! when in a supermarket its only about 28p!!!!!!1 stupid money!!

I haven't tried the school dinners yet though... they are meant to be just as bad. However they have banned all fizzy drinks (not that i like them anyway) and they will soon be removing the vending machines!!

When I was in high school, the food there was a rip off, $1.50 for one slice of pizza that was small, BS. Then again it could have been worse, for example at the Universal Studios in Florida, the same slice of pizza maybe just a little bigger cost about $3.00.
Then when I went off to my first year at college the food was alright until the first month had gone by. The food was never appetizing to me. If you eat hamburgers think twice about this: the burgers were cooked in advanced and put into a warm pan full of grease. When you wanted a burger the server pulled out the burger and you could see all that grease dripping off that thing.... puke.gif.
I never ate a burger there again, instead I ate a chicken sandwich which wasn't soaked in grease. I had no choice but to eat there because I didn't own a car at the time to go the store. On occasion I would go out with my friends to eat. This was all at my first school and not the one I'm attending now.
As for the school I'm attending now, the food is so so. Nothing really bad to complain about. I don't like to eat it every day, so I cook for myself.

It sounds like a lot of school catering companies are corrupt, to be charging prices that high. I remember how many of the items in the canteen increased in price by 100% during my time at school. One summer there was a competition running on one of the brands of soda. You had to peel off the plastic cover on the can to see if you'd won the grand prize. Every single can which was sold in the school was missing that plastic cover, it had been removed by the caterers. They had a lot of nerve to interfere with corporate business, especially considering the soda companies pay big money to schools in exchange for exclusivity contracts.

If you're sick of the way your school's caterers treat you, don't want to pay double price for a can of soda, simply take your business elsewhere. Walk to a local food retailer or restaurant during the lunch hour. Don't just surrender because the school's food is conveniently nearby. It's a business just like any other, and they'll soon learn to treat customers with respect when they have none.
