Okay so I have a question because someone asked me and I wasn't too sure,

Someone wants to buy a private jet and wants to fly from USA to Europe in it, and wants to know if Im able to do it fly him there.

other than the obvious type rating/flight safety aircraf training, can I fly from USA over the atlantic into london? what's involved from a corperate pilot point of view, do I need to get an FCC license I would imagine, anything else involved?

Yes, you'll need the FCC license. I'm surprised that you don't already have one.

There is one obvious reality that relates directly to your question. There is no insurance company in the world that will insure you while flying a corporate jet at your experience level. Or better put, your lack of experience level. If we could put that reality aside, yes, there's a lot to be learned and understood. International flying is a whole new world. Pretty much everything is different. Navigation is far more sophisticated and complex. You're required to know and understand the rules and regs for every country that you not only fly into but over. Agriculture and customs procedures have to be set up and met. Even seemingly obvious things like crew accomodations in the city that you're staying in may fall to the crew. And who's going to make and bring you your coffee?

The international environment is something that is best learned by letting someone who knows what they're doing lead you by the hand. There are literally a ton of nuances and little things that can either make you life easy or totally bury you. But once you've done international work flying domestic is like watching paint dry. It bores me to death.

Hello Ranger!

Thanks for the heads up - of course I wouldn't think it was easy and the obvious insurance reality check wasn't far away!! Obviously something more realistic as becoming SIC onboard until time built, where PIC was a possiblity!

Yea no FCC License yet, I haven't yet come across something that tells me I need it!? atleast not yet!

Im aware that a pilot flying international is requird to hold a restricted radiotelephone permit issued by the FCC for I've not yet had that luxoury
