I hope you two have a great trip and get some nice weather in the UK. Yes, those flights are quite long but I think getting up and having a quick walk every now and then keeps you feeling much more comfortable and don't forget to fasten your seat belt! British Airways and Qantas seem to always provide great service so I'm sure you will have good flights!

Thanks Dash....Im sure we will have a great time.Although last flight I took from Singapore to London was with BA,was supposed to be a Qantas plane but apparently it was held up somewhere because of a visit by ex president Bush. The BA 747 had no aircon workin in the economy cabin. It was probably the worst flight I have ever had.I would probably never pick BA by choice.

Hope you guys have a great journey! My younger sister's family was recently transferred from Houston to Perth. They had the option of going Houston - Los Angeles - Sydney - Perth, but they opted for Houston - Moscow - Singapore - Perth.

Why? Well, going the western route would have had their bags checked only to Sydney. All thirteen of them. Three hundred sixty pounds of them. In other words, Sydney would have been an interesting connection...

Going the eastern route on Singapore Airlines took their bags all the way to Perth.

Now they just need the rest of their belongings arriving by ocean freight. But hey, sleeping on the floor is just like camping! icon_cool.gif

Thanks for your replies. I still do not like turbulence, and there is bound to be some, so our seat belts will remain in place at all times. I will have my diary with me to put in some interesting topics. Plus I have my camera., so hopefully I can get some good photos during the flights.
It will be nice to see my family again, but I think it will be difficult for me this time to say goodbye, especially to my mum who will be 89 this year.
I hope our cases arrive ok in Glasgow. I always worry incase.. pardon the pun... they go missing!!
Take care all..see you when we get back. plane.gif

Relax, have fun and enjoy the trip! Don't worry about turbulence that's the only thing left in those heavies that actually makes you feel that you are flying.

Hi again to you all. We flew back last week but due to severe flu I have not been able to post in here. I am feeling a lot better now and will put in some more details about our flights. I have to say though that the cabin crew and flight crew on Qantas and British Airways were excellent. I cannot.praise them too highly. Professional and very helpful all the way there and back. plane.gif
