More often than not the trade winds favor landings on either 8L or 4R. Both are equipped with ILS approaches. Occasionally the winds go whacko and the 26 runways go into effect. The only instrument approach is to 26L. It's an LDA approach. An LDA is basically a localizer approach that has a pretty severe offset. At HNL the offset is 45 degrees. The localizer inbound course is 304 degrees and the runway heading is 259 degrees.
All of that doesn't matter because when you get to the gate and the brakes are set, you're in Honolulu. I know some great bars/restaurants on Oahu. Over the years I've managed to get into quite a bit of trouble over there.
