IS there a way/how do I get the flight path in the gps(or elsewhere) for my Approach procedures? The friggin' box is in the way so I can't see the path of which one I want to use until I actually load it.

Is there a way to be able to see the procedure paths in the gps OR in the map window?
What am I missing here?
Thanks guys! and gals!

Wow-sorry everyone, I didn't realize until just now how vague this questions was...oops icon_redface.gif

This is in FS9, and it it's when I'm flying IFR, and ATC gives me my approach and runway...I tell them to Stand by bc I want to choose a DIFFERENT approach...So I go to the GPS-PROCEDURES-SELECT APPROACH...
then When I cycle through the available approaches for the chosen runway, I can't see what the flight path is (the lines that draw out the path and also show the missed approach path with the dotted lines) because that black box is in the way...for the life of me I can't remember whats iN that box to further explain what I'm talking about. (sorry I'm at work).
How can I get rid of that box, OR is there a way to check approach procedures in the 'Map' view?

Hope that helps. Help a nugget out please! icon_cry.gif

Simply select the type of approach (VOR, ILS, etc)...load it up...and if you don't like it then don't activate it, select another one and load it and activate it. If you are going to change the approach then you already should know which approach you are going to select.

that would be question #2...I usually select a different one to try out each time. Is there a way to view available approaches during flight planning?

Oh and thanks for answering this post. You always have great insight! (the A319LR is in my Top 5 favorite planes)

That would be using approach charts, that way you would know where your STAR (Standard Terminal ARrival procedure) entry point is, and that way you can select your "transition to" field on the GPS. So, you would select: type of app (NDB, VOR, ILS, etc), and transition to XXXXX (Fix, NDB, VOR, etc)

And you're welcome man. Anytime I can icon_biggrin.gif
