This is it opened. My friend, who is a fisherman, keeps finding these "floats" in the water. They look like beacons and he thinks they come from aircraft somehow. I have no idea what they are suffice to say they have little granules of polystyrene in the tip of it to make it float so that only the yellow part is above the water.
This may be that they are for some other purpose but I told him I would ask all you brainy folk.
I look forward to your replies.. thanks .. icon_thumright.gif

Well, they seem meant to float while either holding something (light) subsurface, or floating to the surface after releasing whatever it once held. Did your friend tell you if they were opened or closed upon his finding them?

Never seen one of these.

Not exactly a sensibie reply is it Squidie? Thanks for the reply Bern (which was sensible). I will ask the guy next time I see him but it would appear that the wings are open in water and when you lift it out they close.

Hmm, now I would have guessed that that's some kind of fishermen's tool... but since your friend is a fisherman, I'll not guess what I suspected. It's definately nothing aviation related I could think of though.
Strange looking thing... Squidie's guess might even come closest.

They have deleted the video, therefore it must a an alien life form that is currently invading the Earth to consume and destroy it - but they don`t want us to panic.

for all those of you `lil people prone TO PANIC!!!! - Don`t worry, I was just joking.
