Hehe, that's due to the type of sensor you have in your phone, like in nearly all of them it's a CMOS one. Whenever you take a picture of an object which is moving fast you'll have that effect. If you had had a digital camera, which would have a CCD sensor, it wouldn't have given that icon_wink.gif

Have a look at this one, the horizontal lines are actually a rotating prop as it should be seen from the pilot's view....

And yes it's a model with onboard camera ;)

wow what a great shot that is. Do the blades really bend that much in flight? Im not sure what is going so i probably sound stupid, but is that a picture of the blade moving really fast and you captured it while it was moving? Im just a bit confused any help would be nice, and i am sorry because i know its a silly question icon_redface.gif

naa, they dont bend that far back-its because of the framerate on my camera-but that would be kinda cool if it did! hat15.gif

Haha, the blades don't bend at all (in that direction I mean, vertically it's another question!)

So here is the technical explanation:
CMOS sensors don't capture the whole image at the same time like CCDs, but one line after another. So when you are trying to shoot a fast moving object, it will have changed position between 2 lines are captured. That leads to a deformation of the object 5sonar.gif

Clear? 8)

Yeah thanks for that but i thought the CCD (charles Couple device) was a small chip which controls most of the cameras colours. Correct me if im wrong.

CMOS and CCD are 2 different types of image sensors, that is the chips that catch the light to reconstruct the image in a camera. CMOS is cheaper but much lower quality (speaking of the first generation that is being used in consumer products).
