I hope i don't open up any sore wounds for anyone. Obviously i haven't been on the boards lately, from about the first of the year up till the last coupla weeks except in random spurts. Only a coupla nights ago did i check the "News" Forum and found out the fate of our TPII.
Things like this just break your heart, and it certainly broke mine. Even though i never met the guy and only shared a few pm's with him, it hits close to home, hits hard. I think the reason for that is the interest we all share here at FL350. I think that aviation is special in that way, i think you find that peope who are interested in aviation, in planes, and in flying, are not just mildly interested in it, but are absolutely gung-ho. Most people either love or hate flying, and we love it and i think that passion that we share kinda makes you feel a connection with people.
So it hurts when you see a guy who's worked hard, who's got such a bright future, who looked so full of life, energy, and love, was so well liked and kind, have all he has goin for him cut short. He's in a better place now, but your heart just goes out for his family and his close friends, it really makes mine hurt. Beyond anything about aviation and flying...this was a guy in the prime of his life, about to move on to a better opportunity, who was loved by a lot of people who will miss him dearly. It certainly makes you not take things in your life for granted, and makes you appreciate all that you have because you never know.
You'll be missed, Terry. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Blue skies, tailwinds TP

I have a little to say on this. I never knew Terry, because he died prior to me joining this site. But it sounds like he was a wonderful person with such a spark for aviation and his family, I have read many of the links posted here and it brings tears to my eyes to see what he did in his life and what he has left behind. It is an inspiration to us all, young or old, male or female, to see what he did for the community here and for his closest ones.
I would like to add that he has inspired me so much reading through what he did whilst I write this, and I am certain he inspired many more of the thousands of great aviation lovers here. I believe that he was a great asset here, and I have only read the links posted on the last four pages. He sounded like a great guy who was there to lend a hand and give his advice, knowledge and guidance to any who was in need or in search of it. I would like to pay my respects to him, his friends here and in the world he knew, and his family. I will be thinking of you on your birthday, March 20th, just 12 days after my own.
Finally Terry, wherever you are, you were a great asset to the world and, of course this community. Have a happy after life. Make sure you remind the angels about your discussion on the UFO’s traveling 7 billion light-years to get to Chicago O’Hare, but the airport was too full. You sounded like a sound chap, one which I never unfortunately was able to chat to.
My regards to Terry, his family and friends in this forum, Chris
