Hmm.. I wouldn't say it's easier to fly. I mean of course when it comes to the way the actual airframe flies it's identical to its Nav II counterpart. While initially you may think that just having those two screens simplifies things, I find that it almost complicates things. The G1000 system has so many features and menus.. I learn something new every single time I take the airplane up. I think it does really enhance situational awareness though.

Btw, in the picture I posted the fuel gauges are indicating the tanks as empty! My CFI took the pic when something went wrong with the fuel sender (He's also a mechanic at our flight school and gave me some really long technical answer that I didn't understand). There's no LOW FUEL annunciator because that only comes on after 1 minute of the low fuel indication.

I recently made the transition to glass and I know what you mean. I'll admit that during training, I often referred to the stand-by instruments for cross reference, but now I'm hooked. I'm having a blast flying someone else's factory-new Piper Meridian and actually getting paid to do it.

I haven't had the opportunity to check out the G1000, but so far, I've found the Avidyne Entegra setup very user intuitive and clean. I almost miss the guesswork...

Here's an exact look at our package:

This isn't the best picture (taken with my phone), but I snapped it the other day after my commercial lesson:

I ran across this today:

http://www.roanoke.com/wb/xp-201513

Not really a picture, but a cool 360 degree image of the local hospital helicopter. I'm unsure of what type of a/c this is though.

Hereby a cockpit picture of an very old/ vintage passengers aircraft.

It's the De Havilland DH-83C Fox Moth

The passengers located BEFORE the pilot.
Give also attention to the small window in the middle.
The pilot can check the passengers!

Nice pictures you all got there! That Westland Dragonfly HR.5 cockpit looks kind of spooky with those few instruments, but nice to see. Were was that taken at? It sadly doesn't look like it is still airworthy.

Not really a picture, but a cool 360 degree image of the local hospital helicopter. I'm unsure of what type of a/c this is though.

Thats a Bell 412SP. The model originally derived from the Bell 212, just "slightly" more powerfull. MWE: 6,789 lb (3,079 kg)/ MTOW: 11,900 lb (5,397 kg). Its often used as a multirole transporter or heavy lifter. Nice and loud old chopper. The Bell 212 then again derived from the famous vietnam helicopter Bell UH-1D. The sound of this helicopter is still used for audio dubbing in a lot movies (too many) for any other model there is today. That flapping sound is unique.
Although I just found out that I hardly have any cockpit pictures I did manage to find at least some:
B206BIII - chasing a little UL, but unfortunately shot with my phone.
B206LIII - above Frankfurt/Germany
A109AII - sorry for the mess but it's just getting stripped for a maintenance check

...now what would I need those G1000 for? Ok, they are kind of neat (deep inside I would want one too), but I just love those old clockmaker's.
