Terry talking about the first time he soloed
Me 3...while sitting on phone books so I could see out of the plane...
Terry on how to greet a pilot
Yes, always offer to buy a pilot a beer when you meet him or her.
Terry about being a pilot
low amount of sleep, life attached to a pager, never know where you are going to go until about 5-10 minutes before departure...unless its not busy, then you sit in a hotel. you do that for about 9-10 days, go home for 5 and then do it again.
I just like to fly, no matter the weather. or time of day.
Terry about Bob Hoover
He's not dead. He lives on through me, and together we roll everything we get in.
Terry, to us, you aren't gone either. You live on through us. All of us here share one tie, which is the passion for aviation. I love to fly, we love to fly, you loved to fly. And that you did. I didn't know you much, but I miss you already. You always sounded like a genuinely generous and modest person. Always ready to answer a question, always ready to share your knowledge, always ready to give advice. We won't see you around the forums anymore, but we'll think about you often, in the skies and on the ground. And if we meet once again, i'll be sure to offer you a beer.
We all miss you, rest in peace.
Nicolas
