Anyone Know if the fan is spun faster due to the construction of the blades. icon_cool.gif

Faster than what? I reckon each engine type will have its own rpm range, some faster or slower than others, depending on a lot of factors...

Do you mean how well the blades are able to cut through the air, how streamlined they are? Maybe you could add a bit more to what you said because it's not making much sense.

I ment like on a p/w eng the blades are streight like a prop and on a -90 they are curved like a banana. this to keep the tips from going supersonic

Intuitively I'd say it's the other way around. The bigger the fan the higher the tip speed, which means that the larger the fan the slower it will turn. With that they migh have had to slow it down a little less than without with regard to others, and thus gain a little efficiency.
