Hey Richard,

The Extra is simple to taxi, and should do this normally; like any other GA plane. Please attribute the following things.... icon_wink.gif

  • Auto Rudder is turned on through FS settings.
  • Your joystick is calibrated through the control panel/FS control settings.
Some questions.

  1. Does this happen on all aircraft, or just this?
  2. Do you have the swivvel joystick? (does the main 'stick' rotate if twisted?)

Try going slower. If you try and turn it fast with a high power setting you'll tip the plane over. I find that the piper cub in fs2004 is even worse. More power will help you turn (due to the increased airflow past the rudder) but you dont want too much.

Try taxiing slower. That aircraft can speed up sooo quickly. And plus it is a aircraft for speed so just take your time taxiing and sometimes turning off autorudder control if you have a joystick which has the twist handle. I say this because sometimes not alll the time but sometimes that really helps in turning the plane effectively. icon_thumright.gif
Enjoy!
FS2002 but I highly highly suggest upgrading to Fs2004 ,now adays FS2004 is being sold for almost near free...and for cheap. So I suggest you take the jump. Since FS2002 which is damn near obsolete wont give you the flying experience you want. Try flying a plane in Spot View mode. Its very hard. So as I said FS2004 is the way. I'm not forcing you but by all means your missing out.

Wasnt FS2004 basically FS2002 but a bit prettier?

If your system can run it, go with FS2004. But FS2002 is more computr friendly (look what changed betwee fs2002 and fsx, eh).

Man I always have problems taxying the Extra 300. Is it really that difficult to taxi anything that has a tail wheel?

Use a combination of throttle, rudder, and brakes to turn the plane. Taxi slowly, and never use to much power when on the ground.

Better yet, get fsX. The Xtra 300 in that is EASY to taxi, as are all tdraggers.
