Manchester Barton airfield, This Cessna 185 G-BKPC is used as a parachute drop aircraft at Cockerham in Lancashire 37 miles north of Barton. On take-off it is belived to have hit an earth mound and lost part of the left main gear. The pilot climbed to a altitude suitable to drop the sky divers off then set off for Barton burning off fuel and giving the emergency services plenty of time to assemble. The Pilot (See local Manchester newspaper web sites for his name) was unharmed in the landing and walked away. Well done that Man ! A happy ending.
