The video starts looking at Mount Hood on a very hot hazy day while waiting for takeoff clearance. Mt. Hood is a snow-covered peak that rises 11,249 feet (3,429 m) and is home to twelve glaciers. It is the highest mountain in Oregon and the fourth highest in the Cascade Range. It is located about 50 miles (80 km) east-southeast of Portland. After takeoff from KPDX 28L, you can see runway 3 and then Portland. At the end of the video, you can see Swan Island and the Willamette River. Swan Island was the site of Portland's first airport, Swan Island Airport, dedicated by Charles Lindbergh in 1927 and it operated until the early 1940s when the island was converted to naval shipbuilding use for World War II. Swan Island is now an industrial area.

As the video starts, the view is of Junction City, Oregon. QXE339 is flying south inbound to KEUG runway 16R on a very warm turbulent day. Just prior to landing, the plane began casting a shadow on the ground. Enjoy the less than smooth landing.

Takeoff of flight QXE40 (N401QX) from Eugene, Oregon (KEUG) to Portland, Oregon (KPDX). Short flight taking off to the north on runway 34L. Very warm day and some turbulence can be seen near the end of this clip. The view after take off is looking east at the Willamette Valley.
